So many exclamations on the front of this packet. Indulge More! Snacking Matters! Mini Rice Cakes Reimagined! With Chia, Quinoa & Flax! And so the thrilling excitement of the outside of the packet continues. These look lovely, nice little bite sized rice cakes with cool white drizzle and little sugar crystals.

Turns out they must have used the same guy who does the McDonald’s burger photos. They’re not pretty. Although most of them are missing their sprinkles, most of them did manage to keep their drizzle intact, and there’s a good bit of drizzle here. It’s kinda birthday cakey in flavour, but drowned out a little by the flavour of the Rice! Chia! Quinoa! and Flax! Actually, the bag reveals a lot of Salt! made its way past the excitable copywriter, and this is definitely a dominant taste.

When you do find some sprinkles, they don’t add any additional flavour or texture, and are a bit wimpy on the colour front, so no points here.

If these were available in grocery stores in the UK, then I can see them being something I might have now and again, although the drizzle and rainbow sugar do add up, because they’re 428kcal per 100g, and a Mars Bar is 448kcal per 100g, so not really something where you can Indulge Guiltlessly! as the back of the packet suggests.

Overall, they’re quite nice, and reasonably birthday cakey in taste if not appearance, but they lose a few points for all the exclamation marks.
