It feels like someone should have told them to stop earlier when writing the name for this product. It’s called Sprinkles ‘n’ Crème to fit in with the Strawberries ‘n’ Crème and Cookies ‘n’ Crème bars they also sold in Summer 2021. Birthday Cake is relegated to a rather apologetic message at the bottom, presumably to try and explain the flavour to the customer.

And then there’s the description, which confirms that this is the sort of confection that doesn’t classify as chocolate at all, but merely “coating”.

However, chocolate or not, it’s actually pretty good, birthday cake wise. The sprinkles are nice and crunchy, and very colourful – they’re even made with natural colours, which just shows that it is bloody possible.

The white not chocolate works really well for Birthday Cake duties as well – I note that vanillin is present in the ingredients – and it imparts a good – although sickly sweet flavour that is perfect for this sort of treat.

All in all, this is one of the best birthday cake flavoured items around – although it doesn’t make it to five cakes out of five because white chocolate isn’t quite the right carrier – it should be more neutral.
